Order & labelling
Test ordered by the doctor; sample labelled with patient ID at the point of collection.

Collection
Trained nurse collects the sample following sterile technique and patient-preparation rules.

Transport & storage
Samples stored at the correct temperature and logged before dispatch or analysis.

Analysis & review
Results reviewed by the lab technician and released to the treating doctor.

Result delivery
Doctor discusses results with the patient; abnormal results flagged for same-day follow-up.
